My brother in law has coeliac's disease. It took years to be diagnosed. I'm so glad you found out what was going on, and that your son is thriving again. Fortunately, there's a lot of products out there these days - we've even managed to source gluten free beer for my sister's partner (not that your son should be drinking that yet).

Oiy I know. Overdue bills make me hyperventilate. Since I don't tend to buy paper bags....I need the billing to be up to date and paid well within due date.

Good to hear it! There are some good people in big companies, they just tend to get eaten up. We switched to a mobile/line bundling deal, done in a very messy way. We had a specific individual to contact, who was very good and actually followed up on things. I would have thought good CSRs (ie, who actually cared) would command a decent price, but they don't seem to. :(

I am the same with bills. I thought I was fairly alone on this. If I get a bill, it will get paid that day (if I can make it to the post office on time). If not, first thing the next morning. My parents wait until the absolute last minute to pay their tax bill, if it was me it would drive me nuts. What if there is a problem and you can't get to the PO on time?

Junk mail....ugh. I don't have enough worms to feed my junk mail to. I really the hate the junk mail disguised as legitimate mail, usually from the members of parliment not-explaining their policies before the election - I find that not only annoying but incredibly irresponsible especially since many politicians are making Global Warming a platform, so why not create pamphlets, fliers and letters and kill a few more forests in the name of campiagning?
//end rant now.

I agree, a creator needs to bleed a little for his/her art. In this particular piece I have been writing, it feels too close to home, even though it's not autobiographical. I feel like I am bleeding too much.

I love historical fiction and have long admired those who do it well. I lack the ability to do it justice. (I am not adverse to research it's just I can think of a million and one other things I would rather be doing.)

I think it is necessary. I think any piece of art that didn't require its creator to open up a part of his or her soul isn't really art.

While I can't directly relate to your experience - I play in the historical fiction sandbox, so the mirror that is my writing is clouded by two thousand years of history - I can say that I poured a lot of myself into my book over the last four years.

But I ultimately got just as much...or more...back from it, as well.

I agree pretty much 100% with your sentiments regarding global warming. I don't exactly buy it...and think our arrogance that we can understand what's happening with our climate borders on hubris. But that's no reason that we can't be environmentally conscious.

The thing that gets me, though, is junk mail. Coupons, direct mail pieces, credit card offers, etc. Every time I check my mail, I find myself wondering how many trees were cut down to make all the junk mail delivered that particular day, and how much power was used to process and print it, not to mention how much gas was used transporting it, ultimately, to mailboxes across the country, where 95% of it will be immediately thrown away.

At least nappies serve a purpose. Junk mail? If I had a parrot or something, I suppose I'd be able to cover the bottom of his cage, or something.
